Nadi in 3 days

📍 Fiji 📅 3-day itinerary 🏨 Hotel pick included

Nadi is Fiji's main tourist gateway — the city adjacent to Nadi International Airport on the western coast of Viti Levu, and the departure point for the Mamanuca and Yasawa island chains that have defined the Fiji experience in global imagination. The city itself is a working Fijian-Indo-Fijian town rather than a resort — the market, the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple (the largest Hindu temple in the southern hemisphere), the main street of duty-free shops and the Garden of the Sleeping Giant orchid garden give Nadi a character quite different from the resort islands. Indo-Fijians, descendants of labourers brought from India by the British in 1879–1916, make up 37% of the population and give Nadi its distinctive character — the dhal and roti eaten at a Nadi café and the temple incense drifting over the sugar cane fields are as much the Fiji experience as snorkelling at Beachcomber. The Mamanuca Islands — including Malolo Lailai, Tokoriki and Monuriki (the "Cast Away" island) — are 30–90 minutes by boat or seaplane from Nadi and represent the classic Fiji island experience: white sand, fringing reef, crystal clear water and the Fijian welcome that has made the country legendary for hospitality.
