Language	Samoan (the official language, with English as a co-official language) — all government business, commerce, and tourism uses English. Samoan is spoken at home, in churches (an important social institution), and in traditional contexts. Greeting: 'Talofa lava' (the full formal greeting, appreciated by locals). 'Fa'afetai' (thank you). 'Mālō' (well done/hello informally).
Currency	Samoan Tālā (WST). Current rate approximately WST 2.65 = €1. Cash essential — most markets, villages, and taxis are cash-only.
