1,754-acre forested park cutting through the middle of the city. Valley Trail and the paved Rock Creek Trail are busy with runners all day. Peirce Mill, a restored 1820s grist mill, is free and open Wed-Sun 10:00-16:00.
Free live performance most evenings at 18:00 on the Millennium Stage — jazz, dance, spoken word, no ticket needed. Afterwards the rooftop terrace gives an open view over the Potomac, Georgetown and the Lincoln Memorial at dusk.
