The S6 from Marienplatz reaches Starnberg lakeside in 35 minutes on a €17.50 MVV day ticket zone M-4. Lakeside promenade, swimming spots and Bavaria-Seewind boat tours from €13.50. King Ludwig II drowned here in 1886; a memorial cross marks the spot at Berg.
