A red-brick spinning-mill island just off Laukontori, converted into a warren of small independent boutiques selling silver jewellery, leather goods, Finnish wool knitwear and vintage clothing. Most shops keep 11-17 hours on weekdays.
The lakeside market square on Pyhäjärvi where fish sellers and berry stalls trade in the morning and summer kiosks sell smoked fish, doughnuts and coffee into the evening. Lake cruise boats moor at the quay right behind the stalls.
The 1820s cotton mill quarter now holds design studios, a chocolate boutique and gift shops along Finlaysoninkuja, mixed with cafés in the old weaving halls. Shop hours run roughly 10-18; the brick alleys stay open around the clock.

Tampere's newest mall, opened 2018 beside Ratina stadium, with about 140 shops over three levels including Marimekko, Kalevala Koru jewellery, Sokos and Finnish outdoor labels. Open Mon-Fri 10-20, Sat 10-18, Sun 12-18.
Built directly over the Tammerkoski channel at Hatanpään valtatie 1, with roughly 100 shops on several floors including Iittala & Arabia, Suomalainen Kirjakauppa and sports retailers. Weekday hours run to 20:00, Saturday to 18:00.
The shop next to the Moomin Museum in Tampere Hall carries Arabia Moomin mugs, Finlayson Moomin bed linen, enamelware and Tove Jansson art prints. You can shop it without buying a museum ticket; open daily from 10:00.
The shop inside the museum centre in the old Tampella engineering works stocks Tampere city books, reprinted industrial-era posters, mineral samples and ice-hockey memorabilia tied to the Hockey Hall of Fame upstairs. Free to enter.
The restored stables of the Finlayson mill owners at Kuninkaankatu 4, a cobbled wooden courtyard with a handicraft shop, a small chocolate maker and a sweet shop selling loose candy scooped by weight into paper bags.
A low-key mall in a converted customs warehouse by the railway station, mixing a supermarket with second-hand clothing rails, a comic and game shop and small speciality stores. Far quieter than Ratina, with weekday hours to 20:00.
