Domestic: Karachi (2 hrs), Islamabad (45 min). Land border: the Wagah border crossing to India (Amritsar, India — 45 min from the Indian side) is open to foreign nationals with proper visas.
Tipping	10% at restaurants. Careem: no tip. Museum guides: PKR 500. Qawwali musicians at Data Darbar: PKR 100–500 as a voluntary contribution (placed in the collection box or given directly). Wagah Border crowd: no tipping of army personnel.
Safety	Lahore is generally safe for tourists. The main concerns: (1) the traffic (Lahore traffic is extremely chaotic — use Careem exclusively; do not walk in high-traffic areas); (2) petty theft in the Anarkali Bazaar (keep valuables secure); (3) the Lahore religious sites require respectful behaviour (cover head at the Badshahi Mosque, women cover arms and head; shoes must be removed). The Walled City is safe to walk in daylight with a guide; avoid at night without local escort. Data Darbar has had past security incidents (bombings in 2010) — the shrine is now heavily guarded but check current security advisories.
