Language	Japanese. English is spoken at the Tokyo Disney Resort (all staff) and at Narita Airport (all staff) but very limited in Chiba city itself and in Choshi. Google Translate camera function (pointing the camera at Japanese text) is essential for menus and signs outside tourist areas.
Currency	Japanese Yen (¥). Japan remains primarily cash-based — many smaller restaurants, shrines, and local shops do not accept cards. ICoca or Suica IC cards (rechargeable transit cards) work on all JR and Keisei trains and at convenience stores. ATMs at 7-Eleven convenience stores accept international cards.

Getting in	Narita International Airport (NRT) is IN Chiba Prefecture, 40km from Narita city and 50km from Chiba city — the connection from Tokyo to Chiba is via the JR Keiyo Line (50 min, ¥400) or the Keisei Main Line (Chiba to Narita, ¥510). Tokyo Haneda (HND) connects via the JR Keihintohoku Line to Tokyo Station then JR Sobu Rapid to Chiba (70 min, ¥650).
