Open-air beer hall behind the UN compound, big shared wooden tables and 60-80 birr draught St. George. Mixed crowd of NGO staff, Ethiopian office workers and travellers; the roasted-barley snacks are free and the tables are never single-party.
Eco-museum of mud-and-straw buildings, a working farm and rotating Ethiopian art, built by artist Elias Sime. Entry 500 birr for foreigners, open 09:00-18:00 Tue-Sun. Guides walk small groups, so solo visitors are folded in with others.

Inside Haile Selassie's former palace on Sidist Kilo campus. Entry 300 birr, open 08:30-17:00. Students fill the surrounding lawns and coffee kiosks; the emperor's preserved bedroom and the lifecycle galleries take about ninety minutes.
Basement jazz club where Ethio-jazz bands play from about 20:00 Wed-Sun. Cover around 200 birr, beers 80 birr. Small enough that solo drinkers get pulled into a table within the first set; the crowd is half Ethiopian, half embassy staff.
Eucalyptus trails at 3,100 metres above the city, reached by a 30-minute taxi from Bole. Entry 200 birr, open 07:00-19:00. Marked paths, joggers and horse-riding locals make it safe to hike alone; the escarpment view runs to the Sululta plain.
The 1885 octagonal church where Menelik II was crowned, with his modest stone palace beside it. Combined ticket about 200 birr. Priests will show you the manuscripts if you ask; shoes off at the door, shoulders covered.
Traditional textile market at the foot of Entoto where weavers sell habesha kemis dresses and hand-woven netela shawls from 800 birr. Far calmer than Merkato, so browsing alone is easy; most stalls open 08:00-18:00 except Sunday morning.
Cultural centre run by dancer Melaku Belay: azmari singers improvise verses about people in the room, masinko fiddles, eskista dancing. Around 250 birr entry, drinks 80 birr. Benches are shared, and the singers target solo foreigners first.
